Colchester Youth Basketball

Colchester Youth Basketball is an organization that looks to develop basketball skills, host healthy competition, teach kids about the game of basketball and most importantly develop a love for the game that hopefully turns into a lifelong exercise for individuals.  We offer both Recreation and competitive Travel teams.  For an other questions feel free to reach out.

  • Age and grade requirements:
    • FLAG-Ages 4-5 prior to June 1(football); 4-5 year old (cheer)
    • Pee Wee/Mini- Ages 6-7 prior to June 1 (football); Grades K, 1, 2 (cheer)
    • Micros-Ages 8-9 prior to June 1 (football); Grades 3, 4 (cheer)
    • Juniors- Ages 10-11 prior to June 1 (football); Grades 5, 6 (cheer)
    • Seniors-Ages 12-14, grade 8 or lower, prior to June 1 (football); Grades 7, 8 (cheer)

Colchester Cougars is a non-profit organization promoting young athletes with skills to compete both on and off the field. We strive to instill self-confidence, great sportsmanship, and hard work throughout our program. Safety, for both our football players and cheerleaders, is the highest priority of our league. All coaches are heads up certified and our players are fitted in the top-of-the-line safety rated equipment. The Colchester Cougars is a member of the Southern New England Youth Football Conference (SNEYFC).  The SNEYFC is a 16-town league. The season starts in the end of July, beginning of August. Games are played on Saturday nights or on Sundays during the day from mid-August to the end of October. Over the years, Cougars have made it to the playoffs, which is an additional 2 weeks of playoffs and the championship game which will all be played in November.  Cheerleaders attend the SNEYFC competition held in November. Residents of Colchester, Lebanon, East Haddam, Moodus, Salem, Bozrah and East Hampton are all welcome to join.

  • Registration is available on the website in October and November for the season, which typically runs November through February. We welcome all boys and girls in grades K-8.

Colchester Youth Wrestling (CYW) is a private, non-profit organization that was formed in 2000. The Club’s mission is to introduce the youth in Colchester and surrounding towns to the sport of wrestling by providing a disciplined and competitive program for kids to learn and develop wrestling skills, self-confidence and the ideals of good sportsmanship.

Colchester Women’s Softball League

  • League accepts players ages 19 years and older
  • Season- May-August
  • Games are played on Monday and Thursday evenings (2-3 games each night)

Colchester Youth Baseball/Softball/T-Ball

We are the official Little League organization for Colchester, Connecticut.  The league is completely run by volunteers and is a non-profit organization. Tryouts and Spring Training begin in March.
