Transfer Station

Hours of Operation - Tue & Sat 8:00 am to 3:00 pm (except if a holiday lands on a Tuesday or Saturday, the Transfer Station will be closed.)

To provide Town residents a legal, sanitary means for disposal of all their waste materials.

Please consider finding an alternative for dumping your ashes as we won't be taking them at the Transfer Station. We recently had a situation where a resident brought ashes that were still hot and dumped them at the Transfer Station and the Fire Department had to be called to put out a fire in the dumpster. There are lots of household applications for fireplace ashes including fertilizer, weed killer, compost and ice melt to name a few. 

NexTrex Recycling Challenge - The Colchester Transfer Station is a collection location for the Lion's Club NexTrex Recycling Challenge. In an effort to divert waste, and recycle for the benefit of the town, the Lion's Club has partnered with the NexTrex Recycling challenge to collect the appropriate plastic items and when enough material has been collected, Colchester Lion's Club will receive a Trex Bench.
