Methods to Pay Tax Bills

Residents can pay their taxes multiple ways - (1) walking the payment into the Tax Office, (2) by dropping paid bills into the drop box by the Town Hall entrance, (3) online by credit card, or (4) by mail to 127 Norwich Aveunue, Colchester, CT 06415 

Normal business hours are:

Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Thursday 8:30 am to 7:00 pm


The Tax Office utilizes a 3rd party vendor for Electronic Payments : “Invoice Cloud”.  Taxpayers can sign up to receive text/email alerts for when they have a bill.  They can also pay their bills electronically using apple pay, google pay, Venmo, PayPal, Visa, Master Card, Discover, AMEX, and checking account.  Additionally, Taxpayers can pay by text alerts and set up their accounts for auto payments.  Please remembers that Fees do apply when using these features: ACH/EFT (checking) Flat fee of $1.50 – all other payments 2.95% of the charged amount with a min. fee charge $2.50 


Paying by Credit Card - An added service fee will be charged for Credit Card payments

  1. Go to the Tax information webiste
    Click Here to open the tax information website
  2. Enter the last name and first initial in the search box then press the "Search Button"
    (There are also other search options that can be selected from the drop down menu)

  1. If the bills found are outstanding and are able to be paid online a shopping cart icon will appear.

How to Pay Instructions Online

  1. If you would like to pay the bill click the shopping cart icon. The bill will be added to you payment "Cart" for payment.

  1. To pay the cart click the "Shopping Cart" Button in the upper left and click the "CHECKOUT" link
