Colchester Recreation will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 30th from 5:00- 8:00 PM as we host the annual Trick or Trunk Halloween Celebration. We have made a few changes due to COVID-19 mandates. Our 2020 Trick or Trunk will be a Drive Thru event at Schuster Park with no contact- trick or treaters will not leave their vehicles. Decorated Trunks will be parked along the driveway at Schuster Park. Cars will enter on Linwood Cemetery Rd, travel one way through Schuster Park and view the Halloween displays. Due to the space, we are limited to 50 decorated trunks. If you love to decorate for Halloween, there are several areas along the driveway that could be decorated without a car as well! Colchester Recreation will hand out prepackaged bags of candy to each trick or treater in their car as they leave the park. In the past, candy was collected at the event and distributed to the trunks to hand out to trick or treaters. This year, we ask that if you plan to attend trick or trunk, please bring your candy donation to the Colchester Recreation office by 10/14/2020 so we can prepackage the candy before the event. Businesses are welcome to donate prepackaged bags of candy with a business card or sticker in it- please contact us for more details and specifications. Please call or email the Recreation office at (860) 537-7297 or [email protected] to register a decorated trunk, decorate an open space or donate candy from a business. You do not need to preregister to attend, we just ask that you drop off a few bags of candy in early October.
