ELEMENTARY & INTERMEDIATE

Open for registration:

~ Game On: No school? No problem. Join us as we spend the morning bowling & playing laser tag at Spare Time, followed by a buffet lunch and Powerplay cards at Dave & Buster's! ~ April Break Trips: Join Youth Services on trips Monday-Thursday of April Break. Each trip list it's activities, grades, fees & what your child needs to bring. Registration is open at https://colchester-youth-services.jumbula.com/home.

~ Half Day Hooray: for grades K-5 on remaining date 4/26/24. $10 per session. CES students stay at CES hosted by Recreation Department. JJIS students stay at JJIS hosted by Youth Sevices. Registration for all grades can be found at https://colchester-youth-services.jumbula.com/home.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

~ Lunch Bunch: Lunch Bunch is a space for middle school students to eat their lunch in a quiet, more comfortable space than the cafeteria. During lunch, middle school students can sign out from the cafeteria and bring their food to our room, Room 408 next to Gym West. We will have alternative seating arrangements and a decorated space for kids to eat in a quieter location. Every Tuesday! Registration is not required for Lunch Bunch. Students must sign out of the cafeteria.

~ After 2: Looking for a safe place after school for your child to grow their social skills, have a quiet space to complete homework and a supportive staff to help with organization? After 2 is our After School Program on Tuesdays for graes 6-8. This program runs from 2pm-4:30pm at the Youth Center. It is free to register and registration can be found at https://colchester-youth-services.jumbula.com/home.

~ Drop In: The Youth Center provides a safe and fun space for middle school students to hang out after school on Mondays and Wednesdays until 4pm. Drop In provides comfortable lounge areas, game tables (pool table, air hockey table, pop-a-shot basketball), gaming systems (Nintendo Switch, WiiU, Xbox), crafts and more! Registration is for the full school year, participants may come as often or as little as they choose and the program is free. ~ Thrive - Be your Best Self: A group for middle schoolers (6th-8th grade) to focus on self-care, mindfulness and fun! Starts on Thursday, February 1st after school until 4pm at the Youth Center.

~ Youth Action Council: A group for students in grades 7-12 who would like to make a difference in the Colchester community. For students who would like their voices heard, develop leadership skills and the chance to speak with Town leaders. YAC runs on Thursdays through the school year from 2:15pm-3:30pm at Bacon Academy in room 2109. Free to join. Registration can be found at https://colchester-youth-services.jumbula.com/home.

~ Chill Lounge: The Chill Lounge is an alternative space for Bacon Academy students to eat their lunch on Thursdays and Fridays. Students can get away from the volume and bustle of the cafeteria and join us for a room with no over-head lighting, more comfortable seating and spaces for them to eat. Students do not need to be registered for the Chill Lounge, they simply check-in when they arrive. This program is free and occurs during the school lunch waves on Thursdays and Fridays.

PARENTS & ADULTS

~ Meeting Childhood Challenges: A supportive group conversation for parents of kids aged 8-12. Wednesdays, February 28th, March 27th, April 24th & May 22nd at 6:30pm at Norton Room A, Cragin Memorial Library. Registration is required. You can register here: https://forms.gle/NiNuegxoi51HV9WA8

~ Youth First Coalition: The Youth First Coalition is always looking for more members who want to work together to improve the quality of young Colchester lives. The Coalition typically meets once a month on the first Wednesday. Meetings run from 5:30pm-7:00pm in-person at the Youth Center. The Youth First Coalition does not require registration and all are welcome to attend the monthly meeting.
