Zoning Board of Appeals
The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) is the body that hears and decides appeals of any decisions by the Zoning Enforcement Officer, hears and decides all matters which is required to determine any specific terms of the zoning regulations and hear and decide any variances of the zoning regulations that are requested. The ZBA accomplishes this by applications made to the Board to make an appeal, request a clarification of any specific terms in the regulations and the request of a variance from the zoning regulations. Variances may be granted if an applicant can show a hardship that is unique and peculiar to a piece of property that is not a result of an applicant’s own actions and is not considered a financial hardship which is not a means to grant a variance. The ZBA meets on the third Tuesday of every month.
