Field Education Forum UPDATE
***POSTPONED***
The Forum scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 7 pm has been postponed to comply with the directions provided by Governor Lamont on March 9th at his 5 pm conference call; which emphasized the importance of “social distancing, focusing on big crowds of 100 people or more…”
Since announcing the forum, we have received a number of emails and phone calls and we expect over 100 people to attend. I wanted to give everyone as much notice as possible regarding the postponement, to provide you with opportunities to adjust your schedules.
We have worked very hard to put together a presentation with facts and resources and we were looking forward to sharing it with you tomorrow. We do not want to delay getting the information to you and we will post the presentation tomorrow for your review. We will work to reschedule the forum once we have a better understanding around the impact of COVID-19 on our town’s operations. In the meantime, please continue to send your comments and concerns to selectman@colchesterct.gov . We will post a response to your questions if we are not able to get a forum scheduled in the near future.
You will see our plan when you review the presentation, but I do want to take a minute to assure you we understand what needs to be done to improve our fields and we are including the costs of this plan in the budget we submit to the Board of Selectman, the Board of Finance and the vote by the people. We are asking for the resources required.
