First Selectman's Report: 12/27 - 12/30

1. Wishing the entire community a wonderful New Year's Eve and a fantastic New Year. May love, happiness, and good health bless us all in 2023!!

2. Today, the Honorable Karen A. Goodrow denied the senior center project injunction and ruled in favor of the Town in the case of LaChapelle v. Town of Colchester. Furthermore, all allegations against the Town were dismissed including violating the Charter, subverting the rights of voters, exceeding its authority, the deprivation of civil rights, and violating the 14th Amendment.

When the transcript of the Judge's ruling is made available, it will be made public. The vote to move forward on awarding the contract to BRD Builders will be on the Thursday, January 5th Board of Selectmen meeting agenda.

3. Colchester Commission on Aging Educational Programming Survey

The Commission on Aging is in the process of planning educational programming for 2023 and would like your feedback on several topics. The survey will go live on January 1st and extend until January 14th.

The Commission on Aging shall assist and support the needs of citizens 55 and older in the areas of nutrition, employment, economic, and physical well-being, social services, housing, and any other areas of concern; develop and implement programs; advocate for this population and collaborate with the Colchester Senior Center and the community.
