Colchester Fire & EMS is currently looking to recruit motivated individuals who want to serve their community as Firefighters and Emergency Medical providers. We are a combination Career and Volunteer Department responsible for fire protection, EMS and all hazards to the Town of Colchester.  We also provide public education in Fire and EMS as well as outreach services in conjunction with the Fire Marshals Office. The minimum age for application is 18 for those who wish to be senior department members (active emergency responders). For more information email: [email protected].

  • Colchester Fire Department is now known as Colchester Fire & EMS we are still providing the same professional and quality emergency services as we did in the past.  The Colchester Hayward Volunteer Fire Company provides support services to the Colchester Fire & EMS, as well as maintaining the 170 years of rich history of The Fire Company. 
Headquarters 52 Old Hartford Rd -(Station 28) houses the following apparatus:

Engine 128, Engine 328, Truck 128 (Tower Ladder), Tanker 128, Service 128, UTV 128, Heavy Rescue 128, Ambulance 528, Ambulance 628, Marine 128/228, Service 328 (Fire Police )

Station 2 is located at  424 Westchester Road, Rt. 149 and houses:
Engine 228, Tanker 228 & Service 228.
