Swearing in of K9 "Skipper", the ADA Certified Service Dog

Welcome K9 Skipper!

On January 24,  the police department welcomed K9 “Skipper” to the ranks at CPD! Skipper is a ADA Certified Service Dog trained by Puppies Behind Bars. PBB trains Incarcerated individuals to train service dogs for wounded veterans, first responders, and for explosives detection.

Skipper has been placed with Corporal Scheel who is our School Resource Officer. Skipper’s job is to provide wellness support to our local first responders as needed and will also accompany Corporal Scheel to the Colchester Schools on a daily basis to provide support to students and staff!

Skipper is scheduled to be sworn in this Thursday, 1/27, at the Colchester Town Hall (meeting Room #1) at 3pm. All are welcome to attend!
