Tax Sale Information
The Town of Colchester will conduct a tax sale on Friday October 28 10:00 a.m. The sale will take place at Colchester Town Hall; 127 Norwich Ave, Colchester, CT 06415 in meeting room 1. The tax sale is a collection enforcement measure authorized by Connecticut General Statute 12-157. The Tax Collector and City staff are not authorized to advise property owners, lienholders or potential bidders of their rights or obligations, or to pass judgement on the character or suitability of any property offered for tax sale. Property owners, lienholders, and potential bidders are advised to contact their own private attorneys. Research on properties offered for sale is the responsibility of the potential bidder
An informational packet about the tax sale will be available for purchase at the Tax Collector's Office for $20.00. This packet explains the tax sale process and the bidding process in detail, and provides answers to questions to potential bidders and spectators most frequently asked about tax sales. It also contains a complete list of the properties offered for sale, and copies of the relevant Connecticut State Statutes.
