Covid-19 Kits and N95 Mask Distribution 12/30 & 12/31

Dear Colchester Residents:

I have been coordinating with Mike Caplet, Regional Coordinator, DEMHS on securing Covid-19 self-test kits and N95 masks to be distributed in order to reduce the spread of the Omicron variant and to supplement existing testing. The town of Colchester will be allotted 1,980 Covid-19 self-kits and an undisclosed amount of N95 masks.

The primary focus is on members of the public who have interacted or intend to interact with people whose COVID status is unknown. As the number of kits are limited, it is strongly encouraged that people limit their number of tests per household so others can get them too. Schools will be getting tests in January, perhaps as early as next week, so that is not the focus for this effort. We will be asking for an ID for proof of residency.

The town will be distributing kits and masks in front of the Bacon Academy auditorium on:

1) Thursday, December 30th from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm

2) Friday, December 31st from 9:00 am to Noon

Sincerely,

Andreas Bisbikos, First Selectman
