Area Libraries Launch Curbside Pickup Service

The public libraries of the Chatham Health District are pleased to announce the beginning of curbside pickup over the next two weeks. The libraries planned together with the assistance of Russell Melmed, Director of the Chatham Health District, to ensure safe procedures for library staff and the public. Beginning Tuesday, May 26, the Cragin Memorial Library in Colchester, the East Haddam Library System, East Hampton Public Library, and the Portland Library will provide curbside pickup. The Douglas Library of Hebron and the Richmond Memorial Library of Marlborough will launch their curbside pickup service on Monday, June 1.  At this time, Library users can visit their local library’s online catalog to place holds on library materials owned by their library or by contacting the library.

Please contact Cragin Memorial Library, Colchester at 860-537-5752 for details of its service.

Delivery between libraries is not currently operating, so libraries are unable to offer interlibrary loan (ILL) services. Library materials may be returned at each library’s book drop. Overdue fines are not being assessed during the shutdown.
