“Clearing the Air About Vaping”
Wednesday, October 24, 2018
5:45 pm - 7:00 pm
Parents, if you don’t know the difference between an e-cigarette, vape pen, or a Juul and you’ve never heard the term “dripping,” you’re not alone. Vaping is all the rage, especially with teens. The CDC reports that nearly one in four high school students are vaping. The number of middle schoolers jumping on the bandwagon is on the rise as well, with nearly 10% of 8th graders admitting that they’ve vaped in the last month.
This is your chance to get educated and ask all your questions regarding vaping and other drug trends. You can’t prevent what you don’t know.
Parents are also invited to walk through the Mock Teen bedroom and experience a hands on search for clues of substance abuse “hidden in plain sight.”
A separate teen vaping program will be held at the same time for students in grades 7 and up and extra credit will be offered by many teachers! FREE PIZZA!!!
Trail Map Guide
With the funds received from a CT DEEP Recreational Trails Program Grant, the Town of Colchester partnered with the Chatham Health District to develop this Trail Map Guide. The purpose for this guide is to encourage physical activity by promoting the use of our region's amazing network of walking trails. The Trail Map Guide includes a listing and the general location of the public trail systems within the six towns in the Chatham District (Colchester, East Haddam, East Hampton, Hebron, Marlborough and Portland). The guide also includes a full-page map showing users the approximate location of each trail facility. The guide can be printed by clicking on the link, or they are also available at the Colchester Town Clerk's Office.
