Colchester Motor Vehicle Tax Bills to be Delayed
The Town of Colchester did not send out Motor Vehicle Tax Bills in July due to the uncertainty concerning legislation that could result in a change to the uniform state-wide Motor Vehicle Mill Rate. Once the State Budget has been finalized and we know what we can base the bills on Tax Bills will be issued. This delay will not prevent one from registering their motor vehicle. Bills have not been issued, therefore you are not considered late. A mandated by Connecticut General Statutes 12-146, you will have 30 days from the established due date to pay the bill without penalty. If you are having trouble registering your vehicle please call the office so that we can assist you in resolving the issue. As soon as information about the Motor Vehicle Tax Bills is available it will be noticed in the
papers, posted on this website and also by calling the Tax Office 860.537.7210. Michele Wyatt, CCMC Tax Collector
