The Local Prevention Council (LPC) is charged with the mission of developing programs that focus on Alcohol, Tobacco and Drug prevention. Members include: teens, parents, concerned citizens, school representatives and Youth Services staff. Funding for LPC programs is provided by a grant from the State of CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Connecticut’s Local Prevention Councils are overseen by Regional Action Councils and we belong to the Southeast Regional Action Council, located in Montville, CT. This partnership has brought
valuable services to the Town of Colchester including professional development opportunities and teacher trainings at no cost.
