Colchester's Annual "Top Dog" Contest
Thank you to everyone who participated in the "Top Dog" Contest. We had an amazing turn out with 49 entires into the contest. Our First Selectman, Art Shilosky, picked a name at random and the winner is Taz. Please join me in congratulating Taz and his owner, Mary French-Glod!
Rabies Clinic - ATTENTION Dog & Cat Owners
The Town of Colchester will not be holding a Rabies Clinic this year. The Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, whom we worked with to assist these clinics, has decided to reduce the number of clinics it offers. They will be offering clinics in the following communities: Stamford, New Britain, South Windsor, Newtown, Falls Village, Hamden, Trumbull, Norwalk and East Hartford. They are posting times and dates on their website at www.ctvet.org. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you.
The Town Clerk’s Office is information central for Colchester residents when they need questions answered or help finding something within the Town Hall. We provide many services to the community such as notary public, sports & dog licenses, and copies of discharge papers.
The Town Clerk responds to thousands of requests for certificates, permits, licenses, and public documents while also providing services to all boards, commissions and other departments within the building.
We also issue absentee ballots for every election or referenda held in our town.
The Town Clerk is elected by a plurality of the votes cast at a municipal election every four years and is charged with the custody and control of all public records of the Town as well as other duties as set forth by State Statute.
