Building Permits
What is a Building Permit?
A building Permit give you legal permission to start construction of a building project in accordance with approved drawing and specifications.

When do you need a Building Permit?
The Best way to find out if you need a Building Permit is to contact the Building department at 860-537-7280.  Discuss your plans with the Building official before beginning construction to determine if you need a permit.  Even if a permit is not needed the Building official will answer construction questions and may provide valuable advice.

How do you obtain a Building Permit?
Building Permits are available in the Code Administration office at Town Hall, 127 Norwich Avenue. Please bring any sketches or plans for your project.

Please Note:  Depending on the scale of the project Wetland or Zoning permits might be required.
