Established in 1984, the Historic District Commission actively promotes the preservation and protection of the characteristics of properties located in the District. As part of that effort, the HDC has designed this website to provide an online inventory of Historic Properties with information taken from the Historical and Architectural Survey published in 1991, compiled by Paul R. Lusignan.
Also included in this site are resources including books and links to other websites, to aid in preservation and restoration. The HDC will continue to work toward expanding the offerings available and properties covered. We hope members of the community will share from their personal collections information they may have accumulated. Photos and information will be professionally duplicated and originals returned to their owners. Copies will be turned over to the Colchester Historical Society and/or Cragin Memorial Library for inclusion in their archives.
