Mission:
The Friends of Cragin Memorial Library goals are to promote awareness and enhance usage of the library by raising funds for programs, materials, equipment and services not included in the regular library budget. Materials and programs are purchased for a broad spectrum of ages and interests:
Children's Summer Reading Program
Museum passes (9)
Large print books
Additional copies of best sellers
Books on compact disk
DVDs and videocassettes
Scholar led book discussions
Professional musicians, actors and puppeteers
Tea and coffee service
Beautifying the library grounds
With your support we can continue to assist the Library in providing more books, quality programming and extra library services to the people of Colchester. The Friends meet at the Library on the second Thursday of each month at 7 pm. Please feel free to join us.
The Cragin Memorial Library exists because of the generosity of those who came before us. Please support your library today.
The Friends conduct an ongoing book sale: an everchanging collection of fiction, non-fiction and audio-visual materials. Sale bookcases are located in the Children's Room and upstairs in the Main Library. Coffee, teas and hot chocolate are always available at the Friends' Coffee Bar. Postcards of historic sites in Colchester are for sale in the Library. Eight scenes from around town have been remade into color and sepia style postcards, available for $1 each.
