The Agriculture Commission addresses information and education concerning agriculture, supports agricultural within the Town of Colchester, acts as a mediator for conflict resolution on issues impacting agriculture, and supports economic opportunities involving agriculture.
The Agriculture Commission is an advisory body.

H. TALMAGE TO SPEAK AT AGRICULTURAL COMMISSION MEETING
The guest speaker at the February 27, 2012 monthly meeting of the Colchester Agricultural Commission. Meeting will be Mr. Henry Talmage. He will be doing a presentation that focuses on farmland preservation.
Mr. Talmage joined the Connecticut Farm Bureau Association earlier this year, and he is responsible for overseeing all the functions of the state Farm Bureau Association office. He previously served as President of Long Island Farm Bureau and managed operations of his family’s wholesale greenhouse and nursery. Because of his background Mr. Talmage understands the value of grassroots membership involvement at the county level in generating positive policy and programs. A graduate of Cornell University, he served as Executive Director of the Connecticut Farmland Trust for five years prior to joining the CFBA.
The Colchester Agricultural Commission meeting is held on Monday February 27, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Colchester Town Hall, 127 Norwich Avenue. Questions can be posed to the planning office at 860-537-7280.
